Auroras – The Ganglers Advantage

What is your success rate ?

In 2025, our success rate for viewing great Northern Lights was 100%. The lowest it has ever been is 97%.  Ganglers is an inland destination allowing for much better weather than destinations near sea bodies. Destinations near sea bodies generally have primarily inclement weather in the late summer and fall.

Where is the lodge situated in the Aurora Zone ?

Ganglers is situated in the southern part of the Aurora Oval, ensuring an earlier (and more comfortable) start of the Aurora season than other destinations and warmer, more stable weather patterns.

Is there Light pollution at the lodge ?

Our main base is the epitome of remote, almost 200 miles from the closest urban center. There is zero Light pollution and the night skies, with or without the Auroras, is simply spectacular. Other areas generally must transport guests many miles from their base to achieve zero light pollution. Due to the logistics of such, it can lead to shorter windows of viewing time. At Ganglers, all guests are no farther than 200’ from their cabin, allowing for viewing time stretching to hours if desired.

Are there any activities to do during the day?

Ganglers offers a unique range of hosted Eco and other activities during the day. The Northern Lights are just the ‘frosting on the cake.’

What other advantages are there besides warmer temperatures for late summer/early Fall viewings ?

Because Gangler’s is located on beautiful lakes, it allows for spectacular photos of the lights reflecting off the lake waters.

If I am up late, will Ganglers adjust the daily schedule?

Ganglers will be glad to delay the following morning departure if you are up late viewing the Auroras.
