Up-Close Encounter – Wolf Sighting on Runway

It’s that time of year! The Sub-Arctic summer is in full swing at Gangler’s Sub-Arctic in the remote regions of Northern Manitoba. With comfortable warmer temperatures and no ice, the habitat of the North Seal becomes alive in every aspect. This remarkable and up-close experience is just the beginning of what our guests can expect to see this August & September. Just this week, our staff spotted a breathtaking Canadian grey wolf on our private runway at the Main Lodge. See the video below – it’s an amazing site to behold! Instead of running away, this wolf actually comes toward the viewer. Wolf tracks have been found around the lodge as well!

Quite common in Northern Manitoba, the Canadian grey wolf is known for their beautiful coloration and intimidating stature. It is unique to see grey wolves out in broad daylight, but the North Seal is unique and the wildlife can take center stage at any moment. This wolf showed little fear of humans. Grey wolves in remote regions like Gangler’s are not used to seeing humans. This creates an incredible situation for guests to view these magnificent animals – leaving behind once in a lifetime memories for our current Gangler’s guests.
