Capturing the Sub-Arctic !

The Northern Manitoba Sub-Arctic is truly one of the most special and unique places in the world ! A simple yet exotic beauty, possessing vestiges of a spiritual quality. It’s a place, an experience which words can’t do justice too.

Enter our good friend, Rainer Schoof. Rainer, is the owner of Travel Specialists Kanadafieber from Germany. KF for decades has specialized in offering  incredible destinations in Canada to European travelers. Needless to say, when Werner approached us with his concept for bringing his young team of talented influencers and videographers to  Ganglers, we were thrilled.

Their visit , in mid August 2024, wowed them. Led by our team of Naturalists, they thrilled at Northern Lights, moose, bears, our incredible scenery and Wolves-Wolves-Wolves ! The crew’s number one priority was filming wolves and they could barely contain their excitement as they captured hour after hour of our local wolves and their pups cavorting thru their native landscape.  Incredible, to say the least. They said it was the best footage they had ever captured.

Rainer and crew started their adventures at  Stevens/Nicklin, our North Seal deluxe outpost. After several days, we brought Rainer’s crew back to the main lodge but Rainer and his associate Carsten Siegel opted instead to remain at Stevens their last day, ending with a night on the beach soaking up the immense solitude amidst the Northern Lights, the night quiet only broken by the occasional howl of a lone wolf.

Rainer is a very experienced traveler and promoter of the Canadian Wilderness from coast to coast. He told us at the end of the trip, we truly have one of the last pieces of truly isolated wildernesses of Northern Canada, a very, very special place.
